"The walleye is not often seen as being the aggressive, scary type. That is usually reserved for species such as pike and musky. But try telling that to this minnow! In this painting, which was originally created as a cover art for Ontario Out of Doors, I wanted to bring this side of the walleyes' nature to the forefront. As a cover piece, I also wanted to get the attention of those walking by the magazine stand. This piece was later used on the cover of Fur-Fish-Game as well".
