"This is the first painting where I depicted Canadian fishing icon Bob Izumi in his element. It was commissioned by Genmar Canada, owners of the famous Lund fishing boats. The family and I spent a weekend up at a friends' island cottage in Georgian Bay, Ontario, where this scene is set. After going out and catching a nice 19" smallie, and many smaller ones to boot, and then taking a few dives in the area, I was all set to go to work".
